The requirements of a convergent science approach towards technology and biology is novel and still developing. Already a number of training programs exist in Europe that take the lead in aspects of the domain of CSN, however, they mostly work in isolation often only covering part of the field biased by uni-disciplinary boundaries. It is essential that a more inclusive and overarching “program of programs” is developed that also fully exploits the new mobility and exchange available within the Bologna system. Hence, in order to advance the field a rapid advance in the training of its future generation of researchers is required.
