Paul Verschure, Zenon Mathews, Sergi Bermúdez I Badia, and Ryohei Kanzak

are the organizers of a workshop on Bio-mimetic and Hybrid Approaches to Robotics:

The future development of real-world technologies can strongly depend on our understanding and harnessing of the principles underlying living systems. Thus, as technology allows for miniaturization, novel computational paradigms require more and more computational power. In this context biomimetic and hybrid technologies can provide a break through in robotics with novel computational paradigms and technologies. This workshop aims at bringing together researchers from various disciplines including research on robotics, computational neuroscience, ethology and FPGA or analog VLSI systems and nano/micro robotics who have developed novel research tools, hybrid technologies or novel biologically-based solutions to computational, behavioral or sensing problems in robotics.
